Delivery Driver (Full-Time / Hourly) at Wright's Dairy Farm & Bakery in North Smithfield, Rhode Island

Position Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for filling, loading, unloading and delivering all wholesale orders. The Driver must ensure all orders are delivered safely and on time to the correct customers. The Delivery Driver is a representative of the Wright's Dairy Farm & Bakery brand and must demonstrate exceptional customer service and professionalism.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Customer Service
? Maintain working relationships with staff at delivery locations.
? Cascade customer comments or concerns to Dairy Operations
2. Delivery
? Pack orders following SOP
? Load the delivery vehicle following SOP
? Deliver orders following SOP
? Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
? Proficient use of a hand truck, hook and pallet jack
? Keep records on miles driven, delivery time, and errors
? Utilize a continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
? Cascade messages to Dairy Operations regarding any and all problems that arise during delivery
3. Maintenance and Repairs
? Responsible for filling the delivery vehicle with gas/ DEF
? Checking oil and check tire air pressure, report to dairy manager
? Identify potential problems communicate with Dairy Operations to resolve quickly
4. Invoices
? Require customers to sign for product after delivery
? Organize and submit invoices to finance
? Cascade any billing or payment problems to Finance
5. Food Safety
? Follow GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs. Remember, do the Wright thing.
? Cascade messages to Dairy Operations regarding any and all food safety concerns
? Maintaining a clean environment to transport product (cleaning the truck)

? Must have a good understanding of physical condition, safety and basic cleanliness standards.
? Must be attentive to spot problems with the product.

Supervisory Responsibilities
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Travel
The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering all wholesale orders, driving between wholesale locations required. Significant time is spent on the road in the delivery vehicle.

Qualifications
? High school diploma, or GED preferred.
? Valid professional driver's license
? Ability to drive a refrigerated vehicle in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
? Excellent organizational and time management skills
? Clean driving record with no traffic violations
? Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred but not required
? Previous experience working in a warehouse or as a shelf stocker is preferred but not required.
? Previous experience in food processing is preferred but not required.
? Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
? Must be able to work evenings and weekends

While performing the essential job functions for this position, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear, stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb. The employee must frequently lift or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This position operates in refrigerated trucks, walk-in refrigerators and the dairy plant, which can be cold, wet, and loud at times. Significant time is spent on the road in the delivery vehicle.
Employees will be required to make deliveries during all four seasons and will be outside working in all types of weather.
