Job Description:

UC Health is hiring a full-time MRI Technologist for the Radiology Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

An MRI Technologist will support the University of Cincinnati Medical Center's Radiology Department by performing all aspects of magnetic resonance imaging according to established protocols. This includes reviewing the appropriateness and completeness of patient histories and requests for services.

  • Completion of a JRCERT-approved program in Radiologic Technology or an Associate degree in Radiologic, Nuclear, or Sonographic Technology
  • 1 year of experience preferred
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or have equivalent certifications, ARRT-MR licensure is required.
  • Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare workers

  • Performs all aspects of MRI according to established protocols, which includes, explaining procedures to patients, reviewing safety protocol with patients and participating parties, and completed MRI procedures according to safety standards.
  • Operates complex imaging equipment in a safe manner and reviews films for diagnostic acceptability.
  • Reviews and administers medications according to physician direction and provides continuous care to patients after completed procedures.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media or medications orally and by intravenous injection.
  • Administers or assists in administering CPR or other emergency procedures as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate records and supplies, participates in quality control, and evaluates department, equipment, and performance for areas of improvement.
