What will you do?


  • Perform a variety of engineering work which may be related to process design/layout, mechanical, manufacturing, tooling, and safety.

  • Work on daily and long-term problems/projects using manufacturing, quality, and SPS tools to resolve issues (ie PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, CAPEX, SAP, Work Orders, Layout, etc.)

  • Exercise judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion (based upon Schneider Production System principles) for obtaining results.

  • Work with other engineers, designers, maintenance, supervisors, and hourly line associates to effectively solve issues, implement solutions, and support Continuous/Safety improvement implementation all under the Schneider Production System principles.

  • Support launch projects, determine cost estimates, design concepts and engineering criteria along with conceptual process layouts for given project.

  • Support process tooling, fixture, and equipment design, purchase, and maintenance.

  • Develop process, safety, ergonomic, and material handling improvement solutions.

  • Serve manufacturing operations as key support person leading resolutions to problems, implementing improvement, and leading projects to completion.

  • Equipment and Tooling: Selecting, designing, and maintaining the appropriate tools and equipment needed for wiring and testing operations to maximize productivity and quality.


What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) is required.

  • Experience with manufacturing quality, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent.

  • Experience with 8D problem solving methodology, tool utilization (i.e., 5Why, fishbone (cause and effect), Ishikawa diagram, PFMEA etc.).

  • Six Sigma knowledge, experience, certification highly desired.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with data, problem resolution, project management.

  • Excellent skills in leadership, communication both verbal and written, and attention to detail.

  • Significant knowledge and experience within business software related to Manufacturing and Capacity Planning such as SAP, ACCESS,/SQL databases, and Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

  • Experience in AutoCAD, PLC programming and vision systems preferred.

  • EcoStruxure platform experience preferred.

  • Experience implementing projects resulting in measurable improvements within labor efficiency, material flow, and overall equipment effectiveness.

  • Experience in process design, ergonomics, simulation tools, and cost analysis.

  • Strong desire to work with people, on the manufacturing floor and with customer interface, excellent follow-up, and execution skills.
