We're introducing remote Case Information Specialist positions for individuals near McAlester, Oklahoma. These roles involve a comprehensive training phase at the McAlester Work Ready Oklahoma Hub, followed by a transition to full remote work after achieving technical proficiency. This opportunity not only offers the flexibility of working from home but also the chance to support vital benefit programs, providing education, customer assistance, and comprehensive support based on agency requirements.


Position Highlights:




  • Title: Case Information Specialist (Remote Work Opportunity)


  • Location: Initially at the McAlester Work Ready Oklahoma Hub for training, transitioning to fully remote work.


  • Responsibilities: Managing caseloads, educating on program processes, customer support via phone, policy clarification, eligibility determination, and document review.


  • Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED, 18 months of relevant experience, excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to multitask effectively. A strong preference is given to candidates with 24 months of experience in social services support roles and those familiar with working with diverse populations.


This role demands a team player with a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. No specific certifications are required, but the role does include standard office physical demands.

Duties Include:



  • Support benefit program caseload according to outlined agency requirements.

  • Responsible for educating participants on benefit program requirements by outlining program information and processes.

  • Enter and retrieve information from case management system; receive and review documents including customer verification.

  • Provide comprehensive customer assistance through inbound phone support by conducting initial assessment, research and assistance.

  • Coordinate with other staff as needed to clarify policies and procedures.

  • Review and determine eligibility status of individual applications, review and resolve problems, and route requests to appropriate staff and units for processing.

  • Assist customers in securing needed information and documents; conducts interviews to obtain information from customers.

  • Coordinate and apply program guidelines to project delivery.

  • Research, retrieve, and analyze information.

  • Identify discrepancies and resolve problems.

  • Research state and federal policies to develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance requirements.

  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains detailed records and reports to measure project activities.

  • Participate in work teams to develop project goals and support materials.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, AND:



  • 18 months experience in data analysis, project coordination, or related experience.

Advertised Physical/Environmental Requirements:



  • Ability to sit and talk for prolonged periods.

  • Hand and finger dexterity.

  • Engage in repetitive motion of he wrist, hand, and fingers. 

  • Standard Office Environment.


Departmental Preferences:



  • 24 months professional experience supporting social services programs.

  • Experience working with low income, unemployed, under-employed and/or diverse populations.
