We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Civil Engineer to join our team in San Juan, PR to support a diversity of projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. You will be responsible for performing project management, coordinating with local public and federal agencies, and support disaster recovery architectural and engineering services.

Your Role:

• Recovery Architectural/Engineering Services
• Conduct site inspections
• Conduct technical evaluations and site condition assessments.
• Conduct the development of Cost Estimates, scheduling and engineering technical reports.
• Manage relationships with private clients, municipalities and local and federal agencies.
• Manage projects and ensure standards of performance, quality and services meet Tetra Tech and client's contractual requirements.
• Maintain budgetary control of each phase of project and display a thorough understanding of project management/profitability.
• Monitor status of assigned projects through obligation and completion and update data reporting system when necessary
• Ensure compliance with best management and engineering/environmental practices, regulations and codes.
• Maintain communication throughout various stages to all parties involved.
• Coordinate and participate in resolution of project related issues and concerns.
• Optimize procedures and maintain communication and focus.
• Keep management team informed on issues, problems, and resolutions.
• Superior customer service skill set, ability to listen, facilitate and negotiate problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related field and a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Must have more than 3 years of professional experience working with infrastructure projects, including but not limited to engineering analysis, design, field supervision, and construction support.
• Must be highly motivated, customer focused, a critical thinker and problem solver, detail-oriented, and a team player with strong focus on quality.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as computer literacy with at least MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Must have a Puerto Rico Professional Engineering valid license, and clean driving record.
• Prior experience with FEMA and working with municipalities preferred.
• Prior experience with CDBG-DR programs preferred.
• Strong client relationship management.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Coastal and ocean engineering experience, including bathymetric surveys, marine mammal observations, and waterborne activities.
