Role Description

As the Lean Leader, you will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of operational excellence, waste reduction, and efficiency within our flexible packaging manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for leading and implementing Lean methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and optimize overall performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lean Implementation:
  • Lead the development and execution of Lean strategies and initiatives across the manufacturing plant.
  • Implement Lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and Kanban to eliminate waste and improve processes.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities through data analysis, process observation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees at all levels to contribute ideas and participate in improvement projects.

Training and Development:
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on Lean principles and methodologies.
  • Foster a learning environment, ensuring that employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to embrace Lean practices.

Metrics and Performance Monitoring:
  • Establish and/or update key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of Lean initiatives.
  • Regularly monitor and report on the progress of Lean projects, ensuring that targets are met and exceeded.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with various departments, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure alignment of Lean initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing to break down silos and promote a unified approach to improvement.

Problem-Solving:
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to address issues hindering operational efficiency.
  • Implement sustainable solutions to prevent the recurrence of identified problems.

Management Process Framework:
  • Drive and ensure sustainability of Lean initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3 years) in a similar Lean leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Experience working in an operational role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
