Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for making sure products meet the Colson Group quality standard, and promote a quality culture throughout the facility. Examine shipments of inventory and raw goods, measure specifications of samples in each production run and train team members to refine production quality. Direct and support plant quality function efforts in development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that will reduce the cost of quality and meet/exceed customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as the primary contact for Phoenix DC operations quality issues as needed.Develop and implement local quality procedures as necessary to be compliant. Support implementation of Colson Group quality procedures at the DC operation.Assists with new hire training and ensures new employees understand quality policies.Maintains appropriate records.Gather information and generate required and/or requested reports.Work with employees to resolve quality issues and techniques.Abides by all established organizational policies, rules, and regulations.Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP and 8D Processes
Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products Must be good with numbers and able to work with several part numbers simultaneously Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods Willingness to learn additional quality skills through educational opportunities
Self-managingAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basisGood interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organizational skills and must be detail orientedBe a team player and support the company's goals and objectivesConducts themselves in a professional manner

Experience:
One to three years experience in Quality operations Familiar with warehouse, manufacturing, distribution center, setting

Education:

Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
Quality certification strongly desired
