The associate director is responsible for directing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, industrial controls, HVAC, and building automation shops to achieve positive operational and financial outcomes across the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The position contributes to and manages the annual capital and operating budgets. Collaborates regularly with customers to proactively problem solve and meet their needs. Provides leadership to a team of 40 managers and independent and bargaining unit staff to maximize efforts in creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or facilities-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in facilities operations. At least 7 years of experience maintaining building control systems; technical project management; progressive leadership experience; knowledge of building systems design, ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, employees, and customers; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired qualifications: experience with PC based engineering and office applications; experience with facilities computerized maintenance management systems and devices; experience with optimizing the energy performance of healthcare or industrial buildings
