Wiss seeks a Senior Assurance Manager to join its growing Investor Backed practice. As a Senior Assurance Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations of assurance engagements. You will closely work with the team to tackle accounting, auditing, and other issues, while using assurance tools and technology. You will also be responsible for mentoring assurance staff, providing them with developmental feedback and career guidance. The Senior Assurance Manager will demonstrate extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the common business and accounting issues facing non-publicly traded companies in the technology, media, and life sciences industries. These issues include but are not limited to complex debt and equity arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, entrepreneurship, funding requirements, growth objectives and exit strategies.
Specific experience working with Private Equity portfolio companies is essential!
The position will reside in Florham Park, NJ. We offer a permanent hybrid work schedule. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY WILL BE CONSIDERED!
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare assurance strategy for engagements
Plan and execute engagements
Set and monitor budgets
Identify and supervise staff
Participate in the proposal process for new clients and projects
Research on technical accounting and assurance matters
Effectively work in a hybrid environment
Qualifications/Experience Requirements:
5+ years of prior public accounting experience
Solid understanding and experience planning and coordinating the stages to perform an audit of a basic public and/or private company
Technical knowledge of internal accounting controls and professional standards and regulations (GAAP, IFRS, GAAS, etc.).
Experience working with Private Equity portfolio companies rather than PE funds.
Demonstrate polished verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the firm
Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment
Superior analytical and diagnostic skills and ability to break down complex issues and implementing appropriate resolutions
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required
CPA license
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Possess strong project management skills
Demonstrate the ability to work in a demanding, deadline driven environment with a focus on details and accuracy
