SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SME - H2S Treating in Midland, TX. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing expert guidance, technical support, and strategic insights to optimize H2S treating processes across our operations. Will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operations personnel, safety experts, and environmental professionals, to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices while driving continuous improvement in H2S management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to ensure effective H2S treating strategies throughout the oil and gas operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing H2S treating programs, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending appropriate enhancements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive H2S treating plans, including selection and optimization of treating methods, equipment, chemical treatments, and monitoring techniques.
  • Perform thorough analysis of H2S concentration data, process conditions, and operational parameters, identifying trends, deviations, and potential risks. Recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to H2S treating in oil and gas operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize H2S treating processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of H2S treating operations to identify potential issues, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to operational staff on H2S treating best practices, safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency response protocols.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with chemical vendors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and technical support.
  • Participate in the design and review of engineering projects, providing expert input to ensure H2S treating requirements are met, and suitable equipment is selected.
  • Act as a subject matter expert during incidents and emergencies, providing guidance and support in managing H2S-related incidents, ensuring the safety of personnel and protection of the environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications or degrees would be advantageous.
  • Extensive industry experience and expertise in H2S treating within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on practical applications and operational considerations.
  • In-depth knowledge of H2S properties, behavior, and associated health and safety risks in oil and gas operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, such as API, NACE, OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements for H2S management and occupational health.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify underlying issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing H2S treating programs in oil and gas operations, achieving measurable results in terms of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Professional certifications, such as Certified H2S Safety Specialist (CHSS) or Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC), would be desirable.
