Senior Quant Trader- Small Prop Firm

Company Overview:

My client is a small boutique proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, specializing in quantitative trading strategies across various asset classes. Originally based overseas, they are looking to continue scaling their US operations, and are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quantitative Trader to join our team.

Position Overview:

Seeking a Senior Quantitative Trader with a proven track record of developing and implementing profitable trading strategies independently. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and algorithmic trading to generate alpha and enhance the firm's profitability. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while collaborating closely with the team of traders and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, backtest, and optimize proprietary trading strategies across equities, futures, options, or other financial instruments.
  2. Conduct rigorous quantitative analysis to identify market inefficiencies and exploit trading opportunities.
  3. Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to enhance trading models and predictive analytics.
  4. Monitor and manage live trading strategies, including risk management, position sizing, and portfolio rebalancing.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the trading team to share insights, ideas, and best practices.
  6. Stay abreast of market developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes to adapt trading strategies accordingly.
  7. Continuously evaluate and refine trading algorithms to improve performance and adapt to changing market conditions.
  8. Contribute to the development of proprietary trading infrastructure and tools to streamline trading operations and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PhD) preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantitative trading, algorithmic trading, or systematic trading at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or financial institution.
  3. Proven track record of designing and implementing successful trading strategies with a strong emphasis on profitability and risk management.
