My client is seeking a Tax Auditor with a specialization in Payroll; the ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, have a background in public accounting, and be in the Ronkonkoma area.
Location: Ronkonkoma, NY
Schedule: 5 days a week in-office, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: Up to $85,000
Responsibilities:
Audit payroll tax liabilities to verify the accuracy of tax codes and calculations.
Assist in the preparation and filing of quarterly payroll tax returns for clients.
Review and prepare responses to government tax inquiries.
Stay updated on payroll tax laws to ensure companies compliance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
3-4 years of experience in public accounting, with auditing experience preferred.
Flexibility to accommodate peak payroll tax season work requirements.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, both internally and with clients.
CPA certification is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
