Job Title: Plant Technical Developer & Instructor

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
Analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate a diverse range of technical risk and safety training programs using a systematic approach to training (SAT).
Assist operations department in troubleshooting plant degradation and start-up issues.
Identify, evaluate and coordinate the implementation of improved work practices and processes.
Develop and lead the facilitation of incident management scenarios and business continuity exercises at the recovery team level and assist with more advanced exercises involving the company level incident command structure.
Identify critical issues raised in scenarios and exercises and work to develop mitigation actions.
Monitor, evaluate, and alert the company incident command structure and business continuity management teams on potential public health, severe weather, and human-caused threats as they develop.
Develop safety and security tips and acts as coordinator for the employees’ Safe and Secure mailbox.
Manage the test bank in LMS, including development and implementation of the test structure; matching examination questions to course objectives; and overseeing the data entry and maintenance of questions.
Work with management and supervisors regarding trainee results, evaluate the results, and recommend/develop individualized training programs.
Prepare employees for initial and requalification examinations.
Assure assigned training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from operations and maintenance experience reports, vendor bulletins and information notices, plant design changes, plant procedural revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
Qualifications:
4 years of experience as a Plant Technical Developer & Instructor, Safety Officer and Training Specialist, or similar duties under a different job title.
4 years of experience with developing and implementing the risk and safety programs for a geothermal or hydroelectric power plant, including the Emergency Preparedness Plan and Business Continuity Plan.
4 years of experience using a systematic approach to training.
4 years of experience reading and understanding Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
4 years of experience reading and understanding geothermal or hydroelectric power plant plans.
4 years of experience working with DCS.
4 years of experience working with process controls and instrumentation.
4 years of experience developing, administering and leading the skills competency and qualification program.
