3rd shift - Shift Differential- 20%

Purpose and Scope of Job:
Responsible for the physical testing and inspection of units and components. Assist in developing Salesforce inspection methodology and processes along with its implementation. Provide technical analysis in the troubleshooting and repair the evaluation process. Maintain order and arrangement of units in proper processing areas. Prioritize and schedule work based on input from Supervision, Coordinators, and Engineers. Test completed gear boxes. Provide field service support as required. Assist assembly with building units as required. Aftermarket is a dynamic environment that requires flexibility in work schedule and duties, which means employees must remain flexible. Any adjustment to an employees normal schedule or duties will be temporary and driven by a customers need.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Document and Photograph the as received gear box and/or components as part of the disassembly and inspection processDisassemble and sketch assemblies to identify components
Mark components to assist with reassemblyDocument bearing and seal numbers
Fill out appropriate evaluation templatesAssist with developing Salesforce evaluation processes and implementation.Photograph rotating elements and components as directed by supervisor.
Overall pictures and close up of damage
Label and properly store photos and videos of inspections.Make sketches and measure individual rotating elements and components recommended for repair
Create simple outlines, diagrams and sketches of rotating element assemblies and attached components for Engineering evaluation and quoting purposesSketches will include tooth counts, hardness check, estimated helix angle and pitch
Perform non-destructive testing and inspection such as borescope, liquid dye penetrant, magnetic particle testingMake repair recommendations to offer customerUpdate inspection information and process steps in PGN.Prioritize and develop inspection schedule based on input from Supervisor, Service Coordinators, and Engineers.Maintain order and arrangement of units in the respective waiting for inspection, waiting for disposition, and waiting for job generation areas. Execute and document scrap orders.Maintain inspection and work area through good housekeeping habits. Perform mechanical run test of units after the assembly process is complete and before shipping
Requires installing couplings, belts, connecting lube system, aligning motor to gear box, documenting test data
Drain and remove units for test standAssist with gear box assemblyWhile on field service work under the direction of the field service technicianMake recommendations based on either experience or research to improve processes with the Aftermarket Department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from a 4-year university or have a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in an industrial environmentHigh School Diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years of experience in a repair or industrial work environment. Or an Associates Degree with three (3) years of experienceWorking knowledge of the operating characteristics of rotating machineryMust have both verbal and written communication skills and be detail orientedMechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of skilled trades including welding, metal fabrication, millwright, electrical and pipefittingAbility to read and comprehend technical drawings, equipment manuals, and assembly proceduresAbility to make simple outline drawings with details to assist quoting, engineering and reassemblyAny additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
