Kforce has a client that is seeking a Validation Test Engineer in Houston, TX.
Summary:
The position is for a Validation Test Engineer to work on the High-Performance R&D Team, including Hardware solutions, Software products within the Company's Server and Infrastructure Systems organization.
Duties:
Responsible for working on special assignments and prototype projects that are moderately complex in nature, where good judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
As a Validation Test Engineer, you will work from developed test plans and written or verbal instructions
Work in a team environment but will often execute their tasks independently
Independently construct, troubleshoot, and test prototype assemblies as well as assist engineers in test phase of prototype systems
Validation Test Engineer will be responsible to test early development level solution components and triage issues found during test
Perform design verification and characterization on Firmware, Operating Systems, Circuits and Other Prototypes
Troubleshoot and repair systems to the component level
Set up, configure, and test prototype systems and software
Perform specified test plans
Perform functional tests and analyze newly developed systems to ensure operation and reliability
Validation Test Engineer will assemble and disassemble prototype systems as necessary
Assist other technicians in completing assigned tasks
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with server storage technology, including PCIe, SAS and RAID is preferred
In depth familiarity of Microsoft Server OSes, Red Hat, SuSE, and Ubuntu Linux operating systems
Must have a solid understanding of hardware and software interactions and be able to apply this understanding to resolve issues
Detail-oriented with attention to product quality
Strong verbal and written communication
Strong problem solving and analysis skills
Proficient in reading and understanding technical data sheets and specifications
Able to work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
Able to easily achieve mastery of new tools, languages, and operating systems
Ability to manage multiple programs and/or areas simultaneously
Ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, setting priorities, and working independently under aggressive timelines
Ability to work under date-driven schedules
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
