Collections Customer Service Specialists are responsible for managing phone correspondence to customers and third parties, processing payment transactions and coordinating file maintenance to aid in account resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contact customers via outbound phone calls to initiate collections process and/or secure information
Record and update full and complete account information to aid in account resolution
Adhere to FDCPA and state and federal laws and regulations
Perform various administrative duties
Comply with policies and procedures as required
Take in-bound calls to process payment information and/or establish reoccurring payment plans in our case management system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required.
Experience: Customer Service experience preferred.
Language/Communication/Interpersonal: Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Strong written, verbal, active listening and phone communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Analytical: Detailed oriented. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and multi-task. Solutions-driven. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
Technical: Ability to use standard office equipment. Basic computer skills, ability to use a keyboard and calculator. Basic technical phone skills. Basic ability to use internet and web mail for business purposes.
Other: Ability to refer to policy and procedures when applying information and making decisions.
