Job Description:

The Application Administrator works with all community Babson users (faculty, staff, students, alumni) as well as internal IT stakeholders, and external vendors, to ensure that systems are meeting the business unit needs. The Application Administrator is part of a collaborative team of technical specialists who are responsible for the success of ITSD's initiatives, college assets such as student information system, student data systems, learning management systems, online collaboration systems, and the M365 application ecosystem. As an Application Administrator, uses customer service and project management skills, along with technical and analytical skills, to support consultative and collaborative efforts as they support the Babson community.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Acts as the primary application administrator for one or more of Babson's enterprise-wide critical systems and as such is responsible for:


  • Provide advanced tier technical end user support.

  • Work with internal technical resources and external vendors as necessary.

  • Look to streamline and transform business operations using the M365 suite of applications.

  • Partner with business units to identify opportunities to consolidate application toolsets.

  • Interact between IT Support Center and IT Systems team to support functionality issues.

  • Partner with the IT Communications team to support messaging, training, and communication initiatives (especially associated with the M365 application ecosystem).

  • Work directly with customers to gather requirements and build solutions that meet the community's needs.

  • Train and onboard IT Support resources as new tools and features are planned to be released to the community.

  • Champion enterprise applications (such as M365) and promote the user and new and existing applications across the community.

  • Partner with Academic Technology Center to support teaching/learning with technology focus.

  • Creating basic how-to documentation as needed.

  • Support user groups to bring customers and IT resources together.

  • Participating in vendor user groups, pilots, and customer programs as needed.

  • Provides metrics and application usage analysis.

  • Supports ITSD Change Control Request and Event Logger process to ensure all changes are reviewed and approved.

  • Partners with team manager as new processes are defined and implemented.

  • Supports team members as needed.

  • Supports service request metrics and analysis.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

3-5 years of experience supporting one or more of the following applications is required: Cisco Webex, Canvas, Cvent, Form Assembly, Qualtrics, EMS, JIRA or Confluence.
And at least 3-5 years of experience leveraging the Microsoft Office 365 Suite to support, design and develop solutions utilizing the following systems:

1. Overall Platform: Ability to manage user rights and application settings, in partnership with Babson Systems resources and external MS vendor resources, focused on leveraging M365 to gain efficiency.
2. SharePoint: Utilization of collaboration and information sharing.
3. OneDrive: Utilization for personal file storage including file sharing.
4. Business Intelligence: Educate and support users with PowerBI and SharePoint to expand the capability of Office tools and enhance information development and sharing.
5. PowerPlatform: Educate and support users with PowerPlatform for low code/no code solutions.
6. Teams: Support as a communication tool.
7. Apply expert level skills to solve business problems for all the M365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerBI).
8. Apply advanced knowledge SharePoint Online and OneDrive assisting users in taking advantage of more advanced offerings.
9. Stay informed of changes to the M365 application ecosystem and evaluate impact to our community users.
10. Understanding of how to use PowerShell to support M365 tasks - such a Sharepoint theme deployment.
11. One or more years of experience supporting data flow and integration needs for M365.
12. Experience deploying M365 technologies to end users, including providing training and supporting documentation and communication needs.
13. Experience supporting M365 while supporting one or more of the following applications is required: Cisco Webex, Canvas, Cvent, Form Assembly, Qualtrics, EMS, JIRA or Confluence as an Application administrator.
14. Experience supporting data flow and integration needs for M365.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in technology, preferably in higher education

  • Must have strong business/workflow analysis and relationship management skills

  • Must have knowledge of data flow and process life cycles in an academic environment

  • Must have strong customer focus and customer service skills

  • Ability to work with colleagues and customers in a collaborative and cooperative spirit

  • Must have a willingness and drive to learn new applications as they are added to the Babson portfolio, so that management and support can be provided.

  • Must possess superior written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; must possess strong analytical, relationship management, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work successfully with limited supervision, must be a self-starter, a problem-solver, and be able to successfully manage multiple tasks.

  • Must possess an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to be part of a world-class organization.

  • Must feel comfortable working with all levels of colleagues.

  • Ability to present to a small group and lead a meeting for a small group.

  • Option for position to be fully remote.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents a reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role:



  • Salary range is $79,250-$88,053


  • Bonus Eligible

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
