Job Description:

Our client was founded in 2018 to provide in-house engineering services to several affiliated national builder/developers for residential, commercial retail, office, and multi-family developments in various markets across the country.

This is an exciting "ground-floor" opportunity to join the company as they hit the accelerator on their growth and expansion. After successfully opening 5 markets in 5 years, Arizona is their 6th and newest division (opened in early 2024).

Company Highlights:
  • Not a Massive Corporation: As an affiliate of a Top 3 National Homebuilder, our client has the longevity of a Fortune 500 company to back their business while preserving the heart and soul of a small business.
  • Consistent Work Pipeline: Due to intimate affiliation with multiple large developer divisions, design work will be prioritized for this team over external consultants.
  • Exposure & Experience: Extra learning opportunities to experience the full cycle development process, from land acquisition and feasibility engineering through completion of site projects.
  • "Established" Start-Up:: Successfully opening 5 new markets since 2018, AZ is this firm's 6th and newest market.

What you'll do as the Civil Project Engineer:
  • Responsible for the preparation / coordination of all technical activities on assigned land development projects.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work; monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices and standards; and ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project consultants.
  • Act as the main point of contract in the day-to-day interaction with the client's designated representative and jurisdictional agency personnel, as well as the team lead for all internal activities performed by the project team.

Responsibilities of the Civil Project Engineer:
  • Assist in management of a project team consisting of E.I.T.'s, CAD Designers and Technicians, Sub-consultants, and Contractors to successfully complete projects.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the financial and technical aspects of residential land development projects.
  • Assist in the coordination of Construction Phase Services including site visits, bid documents, submittal reviews and pay applications.
  • Identify, interpret, and resolve technical project issues with minimal oversight.
  • Analyze, interpret, and stay abreast of the latest regulations and criteria for local, state, and federal agencies.

What you'll need to be a Civil Project Engineer:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience related to land development projects
  • Must have experience with Civil 3D
  • Registered and active P.E., or ability to obtain P.E. license, in the state of employment
  • Must exhibit strong management and leadership skills, with an aptitude to train and mentor E.I.T.'s
  • Experience with residential projects (single-family and multi-family communities) is highly preferred
