Scope of Position: The Lead Capacity Management Specialist (LCMS) supports the Nurse Manager with departmental operations of the Patient Flow Management Center (PFMC). The (LCMS) interacts with the department staff, medical personnel, and other team members to achieve optimal patient throughput. The (LCMS) supports department strategic plan and goals in managing Admissions, Transfers, and Discharges (ADT) for internal and external customers.
Position Summary: The LCMS supports the Nurse Manager with the staffing, planning, organizing, and evaluating, data for all ADT activity in the PFMC. Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, the LCMS supports in guiding, coaching, and evaluating the work performance of the Capacity Management Specialist (CMS) and Bed Placement Coordinators (BPC). Contributes to the ongoing operations of the department, and collaborates with other patient care departments/areas that impact ADT performance
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Baccalaureate degree in nursing; current license as a registered nurse from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing required; experience in a clinical nursing capacity required, with ICU/ED experience preferred; Capacity management and Transfer Center experience preferred: demonstration of leadership and management skills preferred.
Ongoing: Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Maintains and seeks new knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures and protocols. Demonstrates computer skills required to perform job functions
