Expense Lead, Evernorth Behavioral Health - Hybrid at Cigna in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Role Summary:

Evernorth Behavioral Health is a growth engine for the Evernorth segment and for The Cigna Group.It is leading the way to create new health services and bring them to new markets.It is also at the forefront of making mental healthcare more accessible and more impactful for the people we serve. This new role will serve as the Lead Expense Controller for Evernorth Behavioral Health, responsible for augmenting and accelerating insights into the business' operating expenses. This will entail budget management, expense pricing, and expense analytics. This role will also manage valuation and business case analysis for the Behavioral investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the Finance Lead for all Behavioral-related expenses ($200M annually).Collaborate with business partners to understand the business needs, set budgets, and track expenses.Act as a trusted advisor to the extended Behavioral Leadership Team.

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly expense reporting process.Analyze and explain the fundamental drivers of variance. Develop and communicate clear executive-level talking points.Design and implement meaningful summary exhibits and presentations. Continuously monitor and update.

  • Leverage systems and tools to develop meaningful new OpEx insights.Create automated and flexible reporting processes that can efficiently deliver updates that guide the business.

  • Create strong connections between Behavioral products and the Behavioral budget. Oversee modeling and analysis to assign cost estimates to new and existing products.These insights will be critical for Behavioral's product development and go-to-market pricing decisions.

  • Support Behavioral strategy and investment portfolio decisions by developing business cases for all of Behavioral's portfolio projects. Incorporate investment expenses into the broader budgeting and expense reporting process.

  • Manage a team of 2 financial analysts.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, or related field preferred

  • MBA, FSA, ASA, CFA, CPA or other advanced certification preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in finance or related field

  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate large amounts of data and information into strategic and actionable insights and business recommendations

  • Goal oriented and personally accountable; resourceful and self-directed

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, developing strong working relationships with a wide range of business partners
