Position Summary

The Brand Activation, Field Marketing Team is the primary representative for the Marketing Department within each geographic business unit. Each BU Field Marketing team is responsible for the planning, development, managing and evaluation of marketing plans and budgets within their territory. With the significant increase in local sponsorships over the past 5 years, the Field Marketing Manager must better utilize both local and national resources to accomplish business and marketing objectives. Reporting directly to the CBU Director of Field Marketing, it is the primary responsibility of the Field Marketing Manager to deliver efficiencies in marketing programming across all BU Field Marketing teams while leading priority sponsorship execution in the Central Business Unit (CBU).

Responsibilities


  • Be the connective tissue to identify new opportunities across business unit and corporate marketing teams (Brand/Retail Connections/Customer Marketing/Lifestyle & Experiential /Media/Insights & Innovation/Operations) to improve overall Field Marketing function efficiency and marketing programming

  • Own creative development and execution of centralized Field Marketing programs

  • Aid Director in representing Field Marketing in key corporate initiatives like brand planning, strategic budgeting, and overarching budget management

  • Collaborate with CBU FMD to lead priority sponsorship planning and execution for 2-3 singular GM territories to free capacity for BU Field Marketing teams

  • Build all local plans and budgets to effectively support the Brands, Channel and DMA priorities established for the CBU

  • Understand brand strategy, targeting, and positioning, alongside consumer insights and segmentation research to direct and influence respective local projects

  • Sell in marketing programs to BUVP and GMs, and also effectively communicate to CBBD sales and wholesalers, to guarantee alignment with financial commitments, support, and execution

  • Write succinct agency program briefs for program development; effectively provide feedback to agencies ensuring deliverables are aligned with brief and brand positioning

  • Negotiate and execute locally funded media programs tied to sponsorship properties; collaborate with media agency throughout the campaign to optimize and ensure programs are activated, tracked, and validated

  • Ensure all programming is vetted and approved with legal and that compliance is maintained throughout the course of a program

  • Possess a clear understanding of local, state, and federal beverage laws in assigned states and utilize knowledge in the development and implementation of local programs

  • Coordinate with field sales to manage in-market, wholesaler, and retailer needs for designated sponsorships

  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as determined by the Field Marketing Director

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably with a concentration in marketing

  • 7 years of progressive experience in a related role, preferably in the beverage alcohol industry, with an understanding of the job function, marketing, sales needs, and the three-tier distribution system

  • Expert knowledge of marketing principles, practices, tactics and tools; ability to synchronize consumer insights, sales and volume data to identify market opportunities and issues to drive both brand development and volume performance

  • Creativity and the ability to follow through on marketing projects from inception to completion; previous experience with marketing program design and implementation; ability to execute marketing strategy at the local level

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills are necessary; requires excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well across all levels of the organization; must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting marketing content in front of large and small audiences; must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with both internal and external customers

  • Successful track record of working with and activating professional sports franchises, music/event venues and large-scale special events

  • Must be able to make decisions independently and recommend viable solutions to problems and issues

  • Must have a high degree of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; must be comfortable working with personal computers and be able to adapt to additional software programs for marketing/creative design

  • Must possess a confident, pro-active, creative, and collaborative style that assimilates well within a team environment

  • Works well in a fast-paced, action-oriented team where priorities change and time frames are critical

  • Must have strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload; must be detail and results orientated

  • Highest degree of ethics and professional conduct

Physical Requirements/Work Environment


  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed, up to 40%

The salary range for this role is:


$92,500.00 - $141,700.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
