Position Overview: They are seeking skilled Staff Accountants with experience in auditing for non-profit and government entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to these industries. They are willing to train an experience staff accountant that has interest in audit and tax.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct audits of non-profit and government organizations in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and applicable regulatory requirements.
  2. Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and disclosures for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GASB, FASB).
  3. Provide expert guidance on accounting and tax issues unique to non-profit and government entities.
  4. Conduct thorough reviews of client financial records, identifying areas for improvement and offering strategic recommendations for enhanced financial management.
  5. Prepare and file tax returns (Form 990, 990-T, etc.) for non-profit organizations, ensuring timely submission and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  6. Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to address complex financial challenges and provide proactive solutions.
  7. Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the firm.
  8. Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, attentive service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional value.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on auditing and tax services for non-profit and government clients.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and tax regulations relevant to non-profit and government organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients.
  • Ability to work independently with high ownership of your clients.
