About the role 

As our Commercial Development Director you are responsible for defining, implementing and controlling all HM Business Unit (BU) commercial and training development initiatives. You will be a key player in contributing to and supporting regional (US) strategy development, key projects and commercial development opportunities. 

You will report to VP Sales & Marketing, HM US and be a member of the US Lead Team. Location for the role is in Charlotte, NC.

What You Will Do 


  • Collaborate with sales leads to set common KPIs, evaluate performance, and drive continuous improvement


  • Establish governance for CRM systems and align with other commercial processes


  • Develop and align systems for Sales Analysis & Business Intelligence


  • Share best practices for commercial excellence regionally and within BU


  • Improve sales capabilities, methodologies, and tools continuously


  • Contribute to strategy development, focusing on go-to-market plans and KPI reporting


  • Support marketing in coordinating premium product launches


  • Advise and support local sales organizations in using common tools and systems


  • Utilize global platforms within the organization


  • Develop short and long-term go-to-market concepts and strategies


  • Provide input and support for M&A and new business projects


  • Maximize productivity through sales process tailoring and omnichannel interaction


  • Implement commercial training and coaching for sales effectiveness


  • Drive adoption of commercial information systems & tools for data-driven decisions


  • Manage performance metrics and sales incentives programs


  • Ensure availability and use of commercial analytics & business intelligence


  • Lead BU pricing strategy and local market contracts/tenders


  • Lead and develop the Commercial Development team


  • Identify channel conflict and opportunities across all business channels


Who you are 


  • 10+ years Director-level experience in Commercial roles 


  • Well-documented Business Development experience 


  • Understanding of the medical device industry in healthcare 


  • Strong communication and collaborative skills 


  • Proficient in financial management and P/L 


  • Entrepreneurial mindset with solid business understanding 


  • Ability to effectively lead teams and demonstrate strong leadership 


  • Comfortable with ambiguity and complexity 


  • Fluent in English with a degree in Commerce/Marketing, preferably at a Masters level 


  • Willingness and ability to travel
