CHEF and LINE COOK

 

OVERVIEW:

The Chef and line cook will play an essential role in contributing to our patron’s satisfaction and restaurant growth.  Your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the Club’s exact expectations.  The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.

 

REPORTING:

The Chef and line cook will report to the General Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

Along with the General Manager, the Chef and Line Cook will oversee the daily operations in the kitchen and is responsible for all food and pastry production including that used for the restaurant, banquet functions, and other outlets.  Develop menus, food purchase specifications, and recipes.  Maintain the highest professional food quality and sanitation standards.

  • Operate and maintain the Club’s kitchen.
  • Ensure cleanliness and food safety.
  • Ensure sufficient stock of all materials and provide proper storage.
  • Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked.
  • Assure use of proper sanitation and hygiene techniques for all cleaning tasks; assist I the performance of kitchen sanitizing tasks.
  • Conduct physical inspections of the kitchen prep and storage areas to assure sanitation standards are consistently attained.
  • Preparing simple components of each on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Making sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Cleaning prep area and taking care of leftovers.
  • Stocking inventory and supplies – assist with taking inventory monthly.
  • Cooking menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.

 

Employment Standards:

  • High School diploma or equivalent qualifications.
  • Certificate in culinary arts or related field preferred.
  • Experience in similar role preferred.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and general organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
  • Must wear uniform provided or appropriate attire approved by the Chef and or Manager.
