Job Description:





Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. The Coordinator of Grants and External Funding is responsible for contributing to efforts to maximize support from corporations, foundations, and government sources through grants and contracts. The Coordinator will assist with all stages of the grant life cycle, from initial research and conceptualization to proposal submission and supporting faculty and staff in post-award administration.



Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research and identify public and private grants and external funding opportunities that align with Germanna's mission and strategic plan.
• Maintain a grants calendar to track cultivation activities, grant submissions, deadlines, administration, reporting and evaluation.
• Support the development of proposals through research, project management, writing and editing narrative.
• Maintain reports on proposal submissions, including documentation of dollars requested vs. rewarded.
• Collaborate with principal investigators, workgroups, and Germanna Business office to prepare and submit federal, state, and private grant reports, scope changes, and budget modifications as needed.
• Assist in establishing benchmarks and standards for reporting on grant and external funding activities and results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
