Job Description:




Fleet Maintenance Technician 1 will ensure all Fleet trailing equipment is inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as company standards and will ensure a safe working environment for all.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Maintain, and provide routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections to fleet trailing equipment.

Work with Safety department leadership to understand, and ensure that all safety programs and procedures are followed.

Own and promote excellent safety habits

Work independently, with minimal supervision, and be self-motivated

Minimum Requirements:
Basic knowledge of semi-trailer electrical lighting systems

Basic knowledge of semi-trailer tire and wheel systems

Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures

Ability to develop and maintain a partnership and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with internal departments, including Safety and Operations.

 Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear for extended periods of time. Occasionally the employee is required to lift and move objects of varying weights. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.   The employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Candidates must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings, which include physical, lift test, drug test, and background check. Candidates must have the ability to read and understand English and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. 

The physical activity associated with this position is considered high. The employee will regularly lift, push, pull and/or move items averaging 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75. 

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess valid identification, and be able to pass a TSA screening.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both. 

This is a safety sensitive position.
