Logistics Coordinator, On Site at Hub City Terminals

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: Provide on-site execution, carrier management and customer service to proactively plan and route orders, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.


  • Plan and tender loads for FTL, LTL quantities across North America

  • Provide freight quotes as needed

  • Manage short lead time expedited orders

  • Working with carrier base to insure trailers are on-site for loading and swapped timely

  • Manage Carrier Service levels and communication

  • Work closely with DC Management to ensure they are aware of how swaps are going

  • Assist with inbound delivery issues while looking for process improvements

  • Develop relationships and interface daily with key DC contacts

  • Manage and facilitate local relations with carrier representatives and DC Management

  • Review KPI reporting with carrier and/or customer

  • Analyze shipment activity and advise customer of any modal conversions/optimizations to drive supply chain cost savings

  • Complete or assist with miscellaneous projects as assigned

  • Liaison between Global DC and Unyson customer service operations


  • Effective communications skills - (written and oral)

  • Ability to work independently in a client environment with remote supervision

  • Must possess Excellent Customer Service skills

  • PC / Computer skills (Lotus Notes, Excel, AS400)

  • Organizational Skills; Ability to Organize & Prioritize workload & document / maintain a variety of records with high attention to detail

  • Problem Solving Skills; Ability to use creativity and good business judgment to make decisions

  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment

  • Experience in managing all modes of transportation - Intermodal, Truckload, LTL, Expedited
