In this role, the selected candidate will be instrumental in the development of schematics, exhibits and plans for transportation facilities using MicroStation and OpenRoads. He/she will design horizontal and vertical alignments, develop typical sections, plan/profiles, traffic control plans, intersection layouts, utility layouts, signing & striping plans, detail sheets, cross sections and perform organized quantity take-offs and construction cost estimates. Experienced Designer must possess advanced MicroStation skills and be efficient and highly productive in setting up, creating and plotting plans for TxDOT, City and County transportation facilities. Must possess good problem solving skills and is able to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities also include coordination between disciplines such as drainage, traffic, structural and others.

  • Highly proficient with MicroStation software

  • At least seven (7) years continuous experience in the A/E consulting field immediately prior to this assignment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MicroStation/MS Office application interfacing

  • Minimum High School or GED equivelant with preference for completion of an Associates Degree

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient with OpenRoads software is a plus
