Position Description

For Programmer Analyst: Responsible for configuring, developing, and delivering well-tested software applications, scripts, batches, data extracts (ETL), and reporting for department needs. Under general supervision, responsible for analysis, design, programming, implementation, documentation, and administration of the above described software. Responsible for refactoring, reengineering, replacement, and/or maintenance of existing processes, ETL, and ERP software systems.

For Programmer Analyst Senior: Under limited supervision, is responsible for analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, documentation, and administration of software, including but not limited to applications, scripts, batches and reporting. This position is also responsible for the integrity of supported systems, including refactoring, reengineering and/or maintenance as needed.

Position Requirements

Required Experience:

  • For Programmer Analyst: Three years' software programming and analysis
  • For Programmer Analyst Senior: Five years' software programming and analysis



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
  • Relational databases, SQL and database access interfaces (ODBC, JDBC, ADO, ADO.NET)
  • Working knowledge of UML Design artifacts (System use cases, Component Diagrams, Deployment Diagrams)
  • ETL tools (one or more of the following: Microsoft SSIS, Informatica, IBM Information Server Infosphere, SAP Business Objects, SAS)
  • Software testing procedures
  • Network and software architecture
  • Vendor support service levels, organization and escalation procedures
  • Build automation
  • Version control software

Skills:
  • Advanced experience and database-related development skills (reading and writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures, etc.)
  • .NET (C#) software development
  • Reading and writing XML
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Visual Studio, MS .NET Framework, C#

Ability to:
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and tune solutions
  • Develop process and application system documentation
  • Conduct data analysis, identify issues, and recommend and implement solutions
  • Collaborate with external business teams and System Analysts to understand business and technical functional requirements
  • Provide high-level and detailed software development estimates
  • Ensure timelines are met
  • Communicate and negotiate deliverables to team, management, and business stake holders
  • Resolve issues with unclear requirements and achieve a successful result
  • Document and/or map existing physical and logical application system architectures
  • Triage and solve complex problems using structured trouble-shooting methodologies
  • Work independently as well as work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Be on-call rotation, 24 hours a day, for some systems
  • For Senior: Create and execute unit, integration, and regression test plans based on system and validation requirements


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field Experience
  • Experience in administering change management software
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • ETL Tools, such as SSIS
  • Team Lead experience
