Academic Transplant Surgeon and Chief, Division of Transplant Surgery
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis, Health System located in Sacramento, California, seeks to hire a full time Transplant Surgeon and Chief of the Division of Transplant Surgery at the associate or full professor level in the Health Science Clinical Professor, Clinical X or In-Residence series. The Division of Transplant Surgery currently performs both adult and pediatric transplantation of the kidney, kidney-pancreas and isolated pancreas, and seeks to develop the full portfolio of solid organ transplantation.
The successful candidate must have acquired a history of leadership and administration experience in clinical and educational programs, including successful research activities, by virtue of his/her training and/or prior experience.
The selected candidate will provide strategic and operational direction that will lead to growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the surgical programs at UC Davis Health. The candidate selected is expected to engage in the teaching and practice of adult and pediatric transplant surgery; including: clinical care, both inpatient and outpatient; and basic science/translational research related to transplant immunology and clinical outcomes.
Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Degree and be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is also required.
Include experience and capability in transplants of the kidney, kidney-pancreas and/or isolated pancreas. The ideal candidate will have vision and willingness to grow a program of excellence.
The candidate must acquire a CA Medical License before the appointment start date.
