The Energy Efficiency Program Engineer serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by the reduction of waste including energy, water, etc,. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:
Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
Ensures effective and economical operation of the compressed air, natural gas, and electrical systems.
Recommends solutions on capital projects associated with the plant energy systems.
Liaison to the Maintenance and Operations Departments in order to promote optimum energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption levels.
Recommends sound policies directed toward energy conservation in all areas.
Develops a Sustainability Plan for maintaining conservation initiatives and innovations.
Assists the maintenance department to evaluate energy saving opportunities.
Develops training and information materials for topics such as energy conservation.
Promotes employee contributions toward energy savings initiatives.
Pursues an aggressive program to reduce energy costs.
Is responsible to compile, maintain and file energy reports and support documentation required by the Energy Efficiency Program.
Utilizes consultants when necessary to identify and quantify energy conservation measures.
Compiles and presents cost estimates for proposed energy saving initiatives.
Provides information and recommendations for energy purchase negotiations.
Implements the policies established by federal and state law as they relate to energy conservation.
Provides regular reports as to the overall effectiveness of the Energy Management Program.
Conducts energy audits to evaluate energy use, costs or conservation measures.
Is the owner of the Building Automation System (BAS).
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineer preferred, other engineering specialties are welcomed. 10+ years of manufacturing experience preferred, experience in Energy Conservation and Management, coordinating resources to accomplish multiple concurrent projects. ISO50001 experience preferred.
Technology: Building Automation System, PLCs preferred.
Travel: Occasional travel, up to 5% including international
