JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the company’s Value Chain Quality program. Champions quantitative, qualitative, preventive, and predictive quality for the company. Acts as

the central facilitator between Manufacturing, Customer Service, Product Management, Sales, Engineering, & IT to ensure that product and service quality not

only meets but exceeds customer expectations by championing a “designed-in” quality approach. Develops and implements Quality process controls and

procedures consistently across the company. Building upon an understanding of customer feedback, provides processes and tools that help support the

transformation of customer demand into attractive products and services. Assists location leaders in hiring, managing, and training of personnel.

Maintains/reports accurate company quality metrics & records.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Acts as a Change Champion by challenging the status quo across the entire Value Chain. Defines, designs, and implements standardized quality procedures, audits, and controls across the Operations Organization with a focus on prevention and appraisal. 30%

  • Takes appropriate actions to reduce or improve critical error and quality metrics as identified by Key Performance Indicators. Develops trends and actionable business intelligence and statistics. Prepares and issues correspondence including reports to corporate, clients, senior leadership, and the field as required. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of individual plant & overall operational performance. Prepares weekly and monthly error performance recap for senior leadership. Tracks KPIs. 20%

  • Promotes Preventive Quality approaches. Collaborates with Learning & Development to develop training, certification, and counseling requirements

  • for the manufacturing organization. Teams with Engineering and Information Technology to develop certification processes for new equipment and

  • systems. 15%

  • Establishes acceptance criteria for internally and externally supplied raw and semi-finished materials, conferring with the procurement function & suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures. 10%

  • Drives continuous process improvement across the organization by encouraging communication and a consistent flow of ideas and best practices between locations. 10%

  • Leads and/or participates in Key Company & Operations projects and initiatives. 10%

  • Assists location leadership in hiring managing and training quality personnel. 5%

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Master's Degree (Preferred)

MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Six Sigma or Lean Certification Required.

Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred.

ASQ certifications preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

EXPERIENCE

5 - 7 years 5+ years in Quality Leadership roles; knowledge of process controls, procedures, and products; technical and computer knowledge.

Understanding of manufacturing equipment & software development methodologies.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to prioritize schedules, participate on cross-functional teams, and successfully interact with internal & external customers on a day to day basis.

Outstanding verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Must have strong project focus and the ability to assist in the full project life-cycle (ideation to completion).

Requires ability to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies to meet customer needs.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Position is in constant contact with all Company Locations, Corporate Support Processes, Bank Officers, and Item Processing Managers. Possesses strong

leadership and interpersonal skills and has the ability to influence and guide the company’s approach to quality.

DECISION MAKING

Setting Quality standards and correcting process control problems across the organization. Hiring, coaching, and counseling of HC employees in relation to

quality issues. Establishing priorities for the Quality Team. Ensuring products and services meet all client and customer needs.

OTHER

Supervisory Responsibilities: Up to 3 direct reports. Directive dotted line leadership of Plant Quality Managers & Staff.
