Our Global Technology Services department is currently seeking a Data Center Technician.
Prepare/coordinate installation of hardware and equipment (e.g., electrical, flooring, space cabinet, etc.) of new and existing data centers (e.g., coordinate contractors, equipment delivery, verify functionality of power and related, install equipment, etc.) ensuring the installation adheres to departmental procedures and standards. This role will work Tuesday - Friday from 9 PM EST until 7 PM EST. Travel is required between data center sites.
Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Rack & stack servers and network infrastructure hardware within the data center
Responsible for the supervision of outside vendors for installation and maintenance of cabling, electrical, mechanical, fire, etc.
Test and troubleshoot both fiber & copper cable and use of test equipment including tone generators & digital multimeters
Perform cable management including labeling, routing, removing cable, moves, adds and changes per data center standards
Ensure proper utilization of ServiceNow ticketing system; tickets are being opened for new issues, working tickets to resolution, escalate tickets when necessary and review all tickets for appropriate documentation and processing
Other duties as assigned
Associate's Degree or equivalent practical work experience
Experience and Technical Skills
1 years experience working in a data center environment
Read and understand building prints and drawings
Comfortable performing repetitive technical and manual work
Must be able to reach and work overhead, crawl, work bent ove, climb, stand for hours, work from ladders and scaffolding as required
Lift 50-75 pounds daily
Ability and capability to perform, multi-task effectively in high pressure situations and can work well with others, in multiple departments
