Job Description:

POSITION INFORMATION: Conducts ongoing research projects, and may serve as a functional lead to other research staff. 

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:


  1. Data Collection.  Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects. 


  2. Record Keeping.  Keeps record of information obtained during research.  May include a database of information, hard files, etc. 


  3. Literature Research.  Conducts literature searches.    


  4. Technical Research.  Independently conducts technical research. 


  5. Data Analysis.  Conducts analyses of data.  Interprets, draws conclusions, and discusses with principal investigator.


  6. Report Preparation.  Prepares various reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content that may be submitted for publication. 


  7. Test Construction.  Constructs tests or assists in the construction of tests.  Responsible for designing research studies. 


  8. Collaboration.  Collaborates with other researchers.


  9. Material Presentation.  Presents research material to fellow researchers, etc. 


  10. Personnel Supervision.  Supervises a staff of research assistants and technicians.  Responsible for hiring, training, conducting performance appraisals, disciplining, and delegating tasks, and overseeing work.  Discusses disciplinary action with the supervisor and Human Resources.


  11. As Needed.  Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in biological science,
chemistry, physics, psychology, sociology or other health related field

 

Experience:  48 months experience as a research laboratory experience

Equivalent/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree for a total of 96 months research laboratory experience or a Master’s Degree and 24 months experience as a research laboratory experience.
