Mueller Water Products is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening at our Chattanooga, TN plant for an Administrative Assistant to support all administrative functions for the Plant Manager including various data analysis projects. Position will also provide assistance to the other departments as required. Additionally, this position will manage all general office responsibilities.
The ideal candidate possesses five (5) or more years of recent work experience supporting senior level management with administrative duties. This position will deal with sensitive information and confidentiality is of the utmost importance. Additionally, he/she would be considered by current supervision to be the in-house expert for Microsoft Office software packages, specifically Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Desired applicants must have a positive disposition, a willingness to offer assistance, and ability to prioritize multiple items in an efficient manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Worked diligently with Project Manager and Accounts Payable to meet all expectations of keeping projects on track by ensuring P.O.'s are issued and invoices are paid in a timely manner.
Process Credit, Debits and Disputes.
Daily evaluation of all respective invoices.
Bi-weekly process of Credits/Debits
Compile Quality Costs Report.
Compile Daily/Weekly/and Monthly Plant Reports
Weekly evaluation of incoming invoices for proper routing and efficient receipts
Coordination of various projects, etc.
Office Management - Oversee the following external services; printer/copiers, food/vending. General office duties; order office supplies, greet lobby visitors and provide assistance to them as necessary, manage badge access, maintain break rooms and conference rooms, and manage company vehicles, event planning - lunch meetings, visitor tours.
High School Diploma
A minimum of five (5) years administrative assistant or similar experience required.
Strong Microsoft Office skills - including Word, Excel (formulate pivot tables and charts), PowerPoint, and Outlook (computer testing will be required to assess proficiency with these software packages)
Must have strong social and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers
Ability to prioritize many different tasks at once
Ability to adapt to changes and requests from multiple requestors.
Strong analytical skills.
Attention to detail.
Experience with JDE, Concur, Brainware Software
Associate's degree or higher degree in Office Technology, Administration, or Business related discipline
10+ years administrative assistance experience
Microsoft Office Specialist Certification or comparable computer certification
Certified Professional Secretary (CPS), Certified Administrative Professional (CAP), or similar administrative professional designation
Previous administrative assistant experience in an Industrial Environmental

Local candidates will be given priority and primary work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position does have a 60-minute unpaid lunch. Overtime may be required on an intermittent basis. (This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay.)
