Dematic has an exciting opportunity to support our Global Legal Team as a Corporate Paralegal professional in our growing Atlanta, GA global headquarters office (Coda Building). We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual that has a passion for law. This individual will contribute paralegal experience supporting the Global Legal Leadership team with a focus on litigation and employment law.
Support global leadership team with projects and initiatives to improve efficiencies.
Monitor legislative changes, major trial results and litigation trends and assist in the development of recommendations to ensure compliance with such changes.
Conduct legal research on specific issues or topics and summarize in writing.
Assist with the preparation of training materials on various legal topics.
Work closely with Dematic’s Global Legal Team to develop templates, policies and procedures and implement best practices for legal matters affecting the Company.
Maintain Legal’s forms libraries for use by various business groups.
Identify best practices for document and process management for the Legal Department.
Acknowledge service of complaints and subpoenas and maintain electronic case management system.
Provide legal support and assist with the preparation of responses to federal and state agency inquiries, audits, complaints, etc.
Assist with internal investigations.
Participate in dispute resolution strategy and resolution including issuing and managing litigation holds, answers to complaints and discovery, scheduling and conducting witness interviews; securing settlement payments.
Draft and manage settlement documents.
Receive and advise payroll on processing of garnishments.
Maintain data and tools used by Legal Department for maintaining relevant information such as PowerBI and SharePoint and support invoicing process for timely payment of outside counsel.
Prepare, copy, print and maintain electronic and physical documents, as needed.
Support travel arrangements for Global Legal Leadership team.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience.
Paralegal Certification strongly preferred, but not required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm litigation and/or employment law experience preferred.
Proficient use and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote).
Ability to learn new software quickly with little external guidance.
Attention to detail; able to prioritize appropriately.
Ability to multitask with a high level of reading comprehension.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead projects, including delegating and overseeing tasks appropriately.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse personalities in all levels of management, as well as with outside vendors and clients.
Excellent team player, collaborative, energized by the open exchange of ideas, also able to work independently as needed.
Experience and confidence to review or help coordinate or draft a broad variety of agreements, including non-disclosure agreements.
Ability to spot inaccuracies -Not afraid to ask questions and possess the judgement to escalate certain types of agreements and product/services legal issues (e.g., design, privacy) to others on the legal team.
