Senior Data Steward - Provider Data Domain at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Job Description:

The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) is built to help CIGNA drive that improvement in the accessibility and quality of our data assets and tools, and allow us to deliver data solutions faster than we do today. Our ultimate goal is to ensure Cigna's ability to grow is unconstrained by any limitations of our data. The CIGNA Enterprise Data Strategy team is comprised of business and technical teams spanning Customer, Provider, Buyer and Intermediary Data Domains as well as foundational enterprise data teams. The Provider Data Domain team establishes provider data strategy through an Enterprise lens and ensures roadmap delivery for all enterprise provider data domain initiatives.

The Data Steward - Provider Data Domain requires a candidate with strong data management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper use/consumption, data quality, and stewardship. In this highly visible role you will partner with business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization of operational information and execution of enterprise-wide data governance policies and procedures are defined and implemented across the Provider data domain.

Responsibilities

• Matrix manage a cross-organizational team of subject matter experts to evolve Enterprise Data Standards (EDS), including:

  • Critical Data Elements (CDE)
  
  
  • Crosswalks
  
  
  • Element & Data Exchange Mapping

• Partner with Data Architects and business SMEs to create and maintain a Business Data Model (BDM) for each data domain that is aligned across the enterprise and manage Cigna's data glossary for assigned domains


• Lead management, maintenance and governance of assigned data domain standards


• Work collaboratively with business and IT partners across business units to implement data standards


• Lead creation and approval processes of enterprise data standards


• Govern data solutions within assigned domain areas and initiatives


• Provide consultative stewardship services to agile delivery teams and ensure data stewardship best practices


• Participate in data steward communities of practice and represent Cigna as a member of industry workgroups


• Lead Enterprise Initiatives for data stewardship, managing across a complex priorities and teams

• 8+ years' experience as a healthcare professional, Data Steward, Data Quality Analyst and/or Business Analyst


• In-depth knowledge and experience with healthcare terminology, concepts and business processes and systems within Provider data domain


• Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations


• Experience with data analysis, data governance, data quality, business data modeling and/or reporting


• Experience with Advanced SQL are required


• Experience with Governance and Master Data Management Tools such as InfoSphere, Collibra, Erwin EDGE, Informatica, Alation, etc. preferred


• Experience with Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are preferred


• Experience with Master Data Management preferred


• Experience working in Agile project management (SAFe experience a plus)
