Responsible for building and managing one or more teams of senior and junior software architects and system engineers. Responsible for providing technical leadership to the system architects and development tech leads. Leading the team in driving the technology vision and architecture. Support multiple development teams in solving technical challenges. Training and couching junior architects. Tightly collaborate with development leads, product, business clients to align business, architectural, operations and program needs.
This job requires passion and deep understanding of the current software world, the cloud, a passion to research new software technologies, as well as strong coaching and communications skills and business understanding.
Responsibilities:
Build and manage system engineering and software architecture teams supporting a development organization of hundreds of developers across multiple applications and platforms
Provide technical leadership to the system architects and development tech leads
Lead the architecture team in designing simple, scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions
Perform software and system architecture reviews, prevent and resolve technical issues
Ensure architecture solutions are built in alignment with platform principles and standards
Provide guidance, advice, mentoring, coaching and career development to the team members on both technology and communication skills
Tightly collaborate with development leads, product, business clients to align business, architectural, operations and program needs
Lead technology research efforts in order to solve concrete problems and define future roadmap
Lead the team in researching and evaluating new technologies and ensure the Software Delivery organization remains on the forefront of innovation and technological advancement
Requirements:
At least 10 years’ experience in the Software industry
At least 7 years’ experience in system engineering/software architecture roles
History of hands-on development experience
Supervisory experience
Strong software and technology skills
Experience in designing new complex infrastructure and application services
Strong understanding and experience in microservices based architecture.
Experience designing and architecting cloud-based solutions
Ability to build teams and distribute work in an effective way across the organization.
Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback, resolve conflicts, and manage change
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal). One who can discuss and present information logically and concisely.
Understanding of business management (i.e., operations, financial controls, human resources policies and practices, strategic planning)
Self-learner and team player who loves sharing ideas and knowledge
Desired Skills/Experience:
Experience in Frontend technologies, such as React, React Native, Redux, and NodeJS
Experience in Database and NoSQL technologies
Experience with open source projects

Education: BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
