Our team members dig into their internal client's financial data to really understand their unique financial data and interpret how it relates to company-wide goals, such as our commitment to affordability. Together we'll push boundaries to make health care affordable for our customers while delivering a sustainable financial performance.

We are looking for a talented technical accountant to join our team. Our Technical Accounting Lead will be responsible for the following:
- Monitoring and keeping team and Finance Leadership apprised of all new and upcoming GAAP and Statutory accounting guidance
- Developing and leading implementation plans for all new and upcoming GAAP and Statutory accounting guidance impacting Blue Cross NC
- Preparation of all accounting memos for transactions and new programs as well as re-evaluation of existing memos as needed
- Ensuring all Accounting Policies are accurately documented, communicated, and updated timely
- Preparation and review of all technical footnotes in the annual audited financial statements; quarterly statutory statements and annual statutory statement
- On-going interactions with external auditors to obtain buy-in on accounting positions taken

Hiring Requirements

- Bachelor's degree (accounting, business, finance)
- Current CPA
- 6 years experience in financial accounting and reporting role.
- With a Master's, 4 years experience in financial accounting and reporting.
- Experience with analyzing financial statements.
- 2 years leadership experience.
