Job Description:

The Administrative Assistant's duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. Supports managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material. Familiar with Hotel's culture, practices and procedures.

Ability to effectively communicate via phone and email ensuring that all Administrative Assistant duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner. May direct and lead the work of others. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports directly to the General Manager as well as provides support to both Human Resources and Playa Largo Ocean Residences.

In order to perform their various duties, the Administrative Assistant must exhibit many varied skills and qualifications. At the core, the Administrative Assistant is a support position, meaning that communications is paramount. A few of the specific skills that the administrative assistant should possess include:



  • Decision-making: Administrative Assistants have to make independent decisions on a daily basis, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks.


  • Communications and collaboration: An Administrative Assistant must collaborate with General Manager and support personnel, management and clients on a regular basis.


  • Organizational skills: Organization and prioritization are the core elements of the Administrative Assistant's responsibilities. You must know how to keep yourself and others organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important in a given list.



  • Proven admin or assistant experience




  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures




  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work




  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills




  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills




  • Strong organizational and planning skills




  • Proficient in MS Office




  • At least 2 years of experience in Hotel/Resort environment




  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
