PROJECTS

VAM-USA recently installed a new surface treatment llie in the R&D lab and has created the following process improvement opportunites:

• Redesign of the handling system for system for pup handling
  
  
  
  • Reduce size to facilitate handling
  
  
  • Improve the pup position system (ring to prevent pipe movement during rotation)
  
  
  • Build and validate the solution 
  
  


• Preventative maintenance documentation 
  
  
  
  • Define level 1 (Technician) PM task and frequency (to ensure logevity)
  
  
  • Generate SOP (Documentation)
  
  
  • Train the Technician 
  
  

Additional opportunities include:

• Value Stream Mapping
  
  
  
  • Define / optimize product flow for the new surface treatment process 
  
  
  • Design queue space int he R&D Lab
  
  


• Project Engineering overview
  
  
  
  • Support the develoopment of new tools (Surface roughness, 3D scanner, , Bowden tester, scratch tester)
  
  

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will have the several roles:

• Project Manager


• Designer


• SOP Creator
  
  

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Enrolled in a BS or Ms degree program in engineering from an accredited University


• (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Electrical, Petroleum, Chemical (Preferred)


• GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent


• Sophomore or Junior


• Basic understanding of engineering and/or applied science

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Attention to detail and the ability to exercise good professional judgment


• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management regarding project activity


• Experience working in a team environment


• Ability to provide support to staff engineers in planning, design, analysis, manufacturing, and assembly in a hands-on capacity


• Naturally innovative and critical thinker with a "can-do" attitude, proactively seeking out new ideas and continuously willing to learn and adapt new things
