Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Software Developer is responsible for providing technical expertise supporting the pet food manufacturing processes through all phases of project deployment and execution.  The primary focus of this position will be to maintain and support the day-to-day use of all projects, including completing help desk tickets, fixing program bugs, testing new features, as well as deployment and version control.  Longer term this position will be responsible for the development, implementation and support on process control automation projects including human-machine-interface (HMI) development, and ERP system customization. This is a great opportunity for someone to work on a wide range of projects throughout the entire corporation.

COMPANY: Alphia is a manufacturer of three product lines of pet food – extruded (dry), baked (treats) and canned (wet). Based out of Ogden, Utah. Alphia has six plants across the US.  Ogden, Utah is 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City.  The area is in the heart of snow skiing, hiking and other outdoor recreational activity while being near a major city.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

• Handle code deployments in all environments


• Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects


• Needs to have great communication skills for interaction with all departments


• SQL data base management


• Assist in report development through SSRS


• Assist the engineering department in automation projects - HMI programming and process control


• Develops and implements new VB.net, C#, and ASP.Net projects


• Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS - Required:

• Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field
