The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering; changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
DUTIES INCLUDE: The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
Tests, analyzes, fabricates, repairs and operates electromechanical instruments.
Monitors the activities and provides guidance to lower level technicians and laborers involved in range operations, maintenance and repair.
Operates machines: bench lathe, milling machine, punch press, drill press; and verifies dimensions using micrometer and calipers.
Completes assemblies including wire and insulation, electrical components following method layout and concept drawings.
Fabricates and installs electronic assemblies and hardware I housing, using hand tools and soldering equipment.
Repairs, modifies, and tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability using multi-meter, oscilloscope and voltmeter.
Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.
Records work performed and reviews the work of other technicians on work order forms.
Is responsible for the maintenance of the activity log.
Conditions will vary. Most work will be outdoors with temperature variations. Work is subject to high noise levels and vibration and is performed in an environment with high dust/pollen/wind and requires physical presence around high voltage, machinery, and at unprotected heights. Requires protective clothing and equipment for eyes, ears, welding protection and toxic substance protection. Work will consist of 35% standing, 40% walking, 5% stooping, 10% reaching, 10% lifting. Ability to perform under rugged conditions and lift up to 30 lbs. Is responsible for co-workers' safety in hazardous conditions Normal Working hours are Monday-Friday 0800 - 1630
High school diploma or GED equivalent and technical training in the electromechanical field.
Have minimum Six (6) years' experience in the electromechanical field.
Working knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, welding, woodworking and mechanical apparatus.
Requires a general background in basic electricity and hydraulics, military equipment, and radio/telephone procedures.
Maintain the ability to operate various types of test equipment.
Must understand and be capable of applying electromechanical principles with the guidance of schematics and diagnostics aids.
Requires the ability to operate and speak clearly over military hand held radios and telephones
Have the ability to operate a four wheeled drive vehicle, 1 ton.
Requires a valid Driver's License; Must be able to be insured through Company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of your work employment
U S Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
