Overview

Under limited supervision, this Development Test Engineer will develop/validate/debug hardware new semiconductor "integrated circuits" IC within the new product design lab. This position will have hands-on experience working on new product developments and developing testing using NI LabVIEW on various IC products, such as memories volatile and non-volatile, digital designs related to core processers with varying peripherals, mixed signal, and full analog circuits in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies. This positon will be directly involved in the development of new products that support space missions developed for harsh environments on Earth, other planets, and solar system. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.


Responsibilities


  • Designs, fabricates, modifies, evaluates, verifies, and documents test systems to produce or validate new IC products.

  • Continuously work to improve core competencies, develop test solution proposals, develop DfT design for test and DfM design for manufacturing plans, develop test solutions, device evaluation, test, and device validation to specification, and provide initial test support through qualification.

  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining accurate results

  • Experience in test and measurement methods like DC parameters- voltage, current, resistance, and power, and AC parameters like setup, hold, propagation delay, and jitter.

  • Experience with test and measurement equipment: signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, source meters, logic analyzers, multi-meters, and other test equipment as necessary to perform circuit characterization.

  • Ability to comprehend circuit level schematics for IC validation and test specification verification.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Contributes to the generation of the characterization test plan, which is used to validate the development of an integrated circuit with the product development team.

  • Hardware development and design for "device under test" DUT hardware and design "printed circuit boards" PCB using contract layout, manufacture, and assembly partners.

  • Participates in weekly meetings with a cross-functional Product Development Team (PDT) to report on development progress.

  • Occasionally travels to test facilities to participate in qualification of device utilizing facilities in the United States and abroad as required by the specific mission requirements.

  • Provides weekly progress reports of new design and characterization activities.

  • Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum:
*Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
*Six (6)+ months experience and/or classes with ANSI C, C++ or (LabView, MATLAB, HTBasic, CVI, or Test Stand).
*Six (6)+ months of experience and/or classes with test equipment (Source Meter, Multi-meter, Oscilloscope, etc).
*This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

*Ability to obtain security clearance.

Preferred:
*Active security clearance.
*Familiarity or Experience with test engineering experience including product support, test STE design reviews and Bid & Proposal estimating.
*Familiarity or Experience with Military and Space reliability / Quality product experience.
*Familiarity or Experience in testing to MIL-STD-38535, MIL-STD-883 requirements.
*Familiarity or Experience with thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, and/or vibration testing experience.
*Familiarity or Experience with CI continuing improvement, LEAN, or AGILE.
*Familiarity or Experience with Data analysis skills using statistical tools including Excel or other tools such as Minitab, JMP.
*Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office tools.

Salary Range:

$55,102-$70,903

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
