The Cloud Product Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate pricing in CASCADE for assigned vendor line(s). They also are responsible for the development and execution of vendor business plans to increase market share, sales for assigned vendor line(s) consistent with the business plan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with existing cloud suppliers to ensure that the CASCADE marketplace carries the most up to date supplier services while clearly conveying their benefits, investigate new services from suppliers suitable for distribution. In addition, the role will involve product lifecycle activities including supporting product launches, managing in-life product activities and supporting the Sales and Marketing functions.
Essential Job Duties:
Set up new supplier part numbers in CASCADE
Maintain all system SKU information (column pricing, part notes, price protection)
Creation, execution and on-going monitoring of supplier marketing/business plans
Monitor actual performance in comparison to the established business plan for each supplier including Sales and GP$ goals and growth of market share
Drive supplier participation in marketing initiatives through 100% utilization of available cooperative marketing funds
Actively work with vendor to uncover sources of additional marketing funds
Facilitate linkage with vendor field sales organizations
Coordinate with ScanSource sales and vendor representatives for any special pricing concessions. This applies to customer specific “meets competition” pricing as well as blanket special pricing authorizations for specific products
Act as focal point for assigned line(s) on any departmental issues
Maintain an accessible and responsive relationship with ScanSource sales teams
Other duties as assigned
Regular attendance is an essential function of the Product Manager position
Reporting Relationships:
Direct supervision given from Director of Merchandising or VP.
No Direct Reports
Daily contact with vendor representatives, sales reps, accounts payable, and ScanSource management.
Will occasionally make presentations to both vendor and ScanSource Senior Management
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a business-related degree with at least 2 years’ experience in a related Software as a Service role.
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders across a variety of levels of seniority both within ScanSource and external organizations.
You will have a good grasp of numbers and be able to identify where an opportunity exists and fits with ScanSource’s cloud model and when the fit is not right for a channel- based model.
You will be comfortable with the technology market and have a working knowledge of the concept of Software as a Service.
Experience in taking products to market, project management and account management would all be advantageous but are not vital if your skills are a match for the role.
High School/GED
Computer Skills (MS Office)
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience (e.g. technology or distribution)
Negotiation Skills
Proficiency in foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit a computer terminal for long periods of time
Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position.
