Sales Operations Program Manager

The Sales Operations Program Manager (SOM) plays a crucial role in supporting MSEI’s and MST’s commercial team. This role is a hybrid of traditional jobs in sales operations: forecasting, strategic planning, and business analytics - requiring a mix of sales support, strategy, market analysis, sales optimization, and business operational support. The SOM is a catalyst and force multiplier for the effectiveness of the overall US sales team, MSEI local operations, and global MST operations.    

Success in this role means working for the US Senior Director of Sales and Marketing to drive the continued success of MST by ensuring strong sales processes are in place for the US team and to enable and support our growth strategy.   The SOM role will include both day-to-day support as well as customer and improvement projects.  The SOM will be the business team member on active customer projects and for customer account management. Sample projects range from the highly strategic to operational including evaluating new opportunities, business and sales forecast planning, market segmentation, sales pipeline analysis and regular review of key performance metrics. The role requires interaction with various areas of the organization. 

 

Your Responsibilities


  • Design, report, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics. 

  • Evaluation of customers and prospects for sales potential, business fit

  • Initiate, establish, develop, and maintain resilient relationships at and between all levels of customer and MST organizations 

  • Participate and lead formal quotation process according to site specific procedures.  Track and report critical quotation metrics

  • Implement sales and marketing strategies as directed by MST management

  • Develop and demonstrate a solid knowledge of all Micro Systems Technologies products and services, across all sites.

  • Support resolution of customer complaints in cooperation with production, engineering, sales management, and administrative staff

  • Participate in and potentially lead forecasting process by product line, with 12-24-month visibility

  • Use the Salesforce CRM database(s) real time with respect to 

  • Customer records

  • Customer contacts

  • Activities and their protocols and minutes

  • Opportunities

  • Use the SAP ERP system for sales order management and reporting including

  • Order entry and management

  • Interface with factory supply chain and operations teams 

  • Interface with finance team (invoice management, revenue reporting)

  • Provide insight to critical gaps to sales team

  • Generate and interpret key metrics

  • Support customer projects as assigned by MST and site management

  • Develop and manage contracts for US customers, including government

  • Understand and manage US defense based ITAR/DFARS contractual and secure data contracts and information.  Support US sales team.  

  • Participate in assigned trade shows and industry conferences

  • Minimum 10% customer site travel, overnight travel as required

  • Prepare, present presentations for and to senior executives

  • Assist in troubleshooting operational issues as they surface; propose changes to systems/ processes to fix root causes

  • Prepare, present Quarterly Business Reviews for and to leadership team

  • Monitor and track competitive developments and marketing practices

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research to support business development decision making on identified technologies

Required Education and Experience:


  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government. 

  • Bachelor of Science Data Science, Business or Finance engineering or technical degree.  Advanced technical degree or MBA a plus.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent social skills and proven intercultural experience US/EU

  • German language skills (desired, not required)

  • Intimate working knowledge concerning electronic assembly and Integrated Circuits packaging techniques as well as high-reliability interconnect technologies 

  • 5 or more years of direct, hands-on sales experience in the field of medical or comparable high reliability electronic assembly/IC-packaging services and/or components

  • Experience working in business analytic, business planning or finance.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, web meetings, and presentation equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work may vary depending on time zone supported. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
