Rapid Responder participates as a temporary member of an emergency response team conducting a variety of tasks related to Emergency Response, Environmental Response, and Disaster Response. A Rapid Responder participates in an on-call rotation and may be assigned to a wide range of tasks including air, water, or soil sampling, meteorological monitoring, or asset tracking, all requiring proficiency in hand held smart devices for managing data and records associated with emergency response projects and may also assist in construction management, safety observations, and administrative functions. A Rapid Responder may assist in conducting research or performing investigations to identify sources of pollutants or hazards that affect either the environment or the health of a designated population. The successful candidate will demonstrate a professional attitude towards the company's clients, customers, and co-workers and be able to follow specific functions relevant to their work environment. All Rapid Responders must be available for emergency response and frequent, extended travel. Rapid Responders can be located anywhere within the contiguous 48 United States.

This is a part temporary position and as such does not offer benefits.
ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE
Immediate availability for extended travel and emergency response at client's request for periods lasting up to 30 days;
Independently read instruments and record measurements on standard forms;
Translate data on paper forms to computer-based forms;
Participate on projects related to emergency response, risk assessment, toxicology or industrial hygiene;
Independently prepare chain-of-custody for environmental samples;
Independently assemble technical reports for equipment, procedures, etc.; and
Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent;
Functional or higher computer literacy skills in a Windows-based environment required;
Experience in any branch of the armed forces desirable;
Experience and/or proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment desirable;
Experience using air and environmental sampling equipment desirable; and,
Relevant experience in emergency response, environmental response, construction management, building trades, administrative roles, etc. are desirable
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age;
Must possess a current valid, unrestricted driver's license;
Ability to pass a company supplied pre-employment physical and annual physicals thereafter which includes an illicit drug screen;
Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test and be medically cleared and certified to work in HAZWOPER sites as required under OSHA 29CFR 1910.120 (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions);
Ability to complete HAZWOPER certification and related Safety Training;
Ability to obtain DISA clearance;
Ability to obtain TWIC clearance;
Ability to complete all assigned job specific OSHA training and clearances (including annual training renewals) to ensure continuous response readiness; and,
Ability to obtain a passport and travel internationally.

OCCASIONAL
Ability to drive noncommercial vehicles;
Rarely may work shifts of up to 24 hours in duration;
Dress out in physically demanding personal protective equipment (PPE) for site entry at HAZWOPER sites as required under 29CFR 1910.120; and
Wear partially or totally encapsulating personal protective equipment.
