The Site Reliability Engineering Intern will work with the SRE team on a combination of software and systems engineering for building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that internal and external services meet or exceed reliability and performance expectations while adhering to Equifax engineering principles.
What You'll Do
Design, implement and maintain large scale clusters with monitoring, logging and alerting inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
Troubleshoot production issues & Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems, and create runbooks.
Be part of an on-call rotation to support production systems
Build and manage systems, infrastructure and applications through automation.
Write code using programming and/or scripting languages.
Gain expertise in CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus
Learn and contribute to enhance SLA/SLO and cost optimization for services deployed in public cloud
Learn GCP managed services like GKE, Cloud Spanner, Firestore,
Communicate with Operations & Product team members
What experience you need
Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in CIS or related discipline.
Graduating by May 2024
Completed coursework in cloud technologies
What could set you apart
Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Familiarity with Agile development practices and good software engineering practices
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
