The Site Reliability Engineering Intern will work with the SRE team on a combination of software and systems engineering for building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that internal and external services meet or exceed reliability and performance expectations while adhering to Equifax engineering principles.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement and maintain large scale clusters with monitoring, logging and alerting inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from
  
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
  
• Troubleshoot production issues & Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems, and create runbooks.
  
• Be part of an on-call rotation to support production systems
  
• Build and manage systems, infrastructure and applications through automation.
  
• Write code using programming and/or scripting languages.
  
• Gain expertise in CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus
  
• Learn and contribute to enhance SLA/SLO and cost optimization for services deployed in public cloud
  
• Learn GCP managed services like GKE, Cloud Spanner, Firestore,
  
• Communicate with Operations & Product team members
  

What experience you need

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in CIS or related discipline.
  
• Graduating by May 2024
  
• Completed coursework in cloud technologies
  

What could set you apart

• Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  
• Familiarity with Agile development practices and good software engineering practices
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
  
• Demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
