Job Summary:

Oversees the negotiation, structure and administration of contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors and suppliers for pricing and purchasing goods and supplies, equipment, services, systems, software or technical equipment for internal company use. Ensures favorable terms and volume discounts are negotiated that comply with company policies and procedures, legal requirements and/or other specifications.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages the activities and staff involved in purchasing, procurement and pricing of goods and supplies, equipment, services, systems, software or technical equipment for internal company use.

  • Develops, documents, implements and coordinates procurement and pricing activities company-wide to maximize scale efficiencies and deliver industry-leading effectiveness. Ensures procurement strategy aligns with company strategy.

  • Develops and negotiates contracts, and implements and monitors procurement processes to ensure efficient execution and best in class acquisitions. Minimizes the company's risk exposure to finance, audit and legal issues.

  • Provides strategic procurement and pricing guidance and develops programs, policies and procedures to produce efficiencies and reduce expenses through strategic sourcing. Ensures compliance to formal sourcing/procurement policies and preferred supplier agreements. Directs, reviews, and approves all major sourcing decisions.

  • Manages a team including providing oversight and direction for financial and operational activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Manages experienced, professional employees and/or supervisors; and/or manages large, complex technical and/or business support teams. Accountable for the performance and results of a team and/or department.

  • Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports.

  • Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment.

  • Collaborates with team(s), customers/ clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.

  • Decisions may have impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in serious delays and considerable expenditures of additional time, people and/or financial resources.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Work experience in the Defense & Aerospace market with familiarity of industry requirements.
