The Automation QA Manager is a fully hand-on senior automation engineer/architect who will lead a team of automation and performance QA engineers and manage everything related to automation and performance in QA. This role manages the script development, processes, testing and projects in automation and performance. The Automation QA Manager will work with team members in R&D including software developers/managers, product managers / product business analysts, QA members and another QA manager.
Essential Responsibilities / Duties
Fully hand-on for performance and automation script development and be lead automation QA engineer and architect.
Be automation script development lead providing guidance to automation and performance engineers.
Be architect for automation script, platform and environment implementation and solve automation script development problems.
Drive test automation from the ground up
Manages the activities of automation and performance QA engineers in the QA automation team.
Works with R&D team members including development managers and QA manager to ensure effective management of automation QA team members and proper resource allocation.
Effectively communicates project implementation and quality concerns to R&D leadership.
Formulates strategic automation QA plans and process to increase quality and improve implementation efficiencies.
Crafts a training program for less experienced automation engineers.
Research tools for improving and upgrading automation capability.
Functions in a consultative role to evaluate current QA business practices and offer insight to ensure success of Connecture products and/or services.
Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews for all automation QA team members.
Performs human capital responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
Qualifications
BS/BA Degree in computer science or related discipline
7+ years in software development implementation lifecycle focused specifically on quality assurance
1+ year in a manager role overseeing quality assurance resources working on various projects
5+ years QA Testing automation experience
